About the DofE Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) is a voluntary, non-competitive program that helps young people develop skills, confidence, and resilience. It's open to young people aged 14–24. What's involved? Volunteering: Take action to help your community Physical: Focus on your health and fitness Skills: Learn new skills or develop existing ones Expedition: Plan and carry out an expedition with a small team Residential: Participate in a residential event at Gold level What are the benefits? Develops skills, confidence, and resilience Helps young people overcome obstacles Helps young people learn new things Helps young people test their limits Helps young people grow as a whole person What are the levels? Bronze: The first level of the award Silver: The second level of the award Gold: The third and highest level of the award Who can participate? Anyone aged 14–24, regardless of background or ability
